Another bogus "study" - "Gun Ownership and Firearm-related Deaths" by Sripal Bangalore and Franz H. Messerli

I had a look at this bogus "study" that two bone heads published to raise there paper count namely, Sripal Bangalore and  Franz H. Messerli.

Dr. Sripal Bangalore is assistant professor in the department of medicine at NYU Langone Medical Center, in New York City and is just an ignoramus. He claimed the finding regarding chelation therapy is an isolated one and "needs to be studied further." He seems to just ignore HUNDREDS of papers already published back in the 1950s and 60s (before the big bucks of modern cardiology). These papers testify uniformly to the amazing successes of chelation, which even the recent badly run trial in a very hostile environment failed to smother. source

Bogus Study

Unfortunately, guns used in self defense are not accounted for.
Unfortunately, guns uses in suicide are not accounted for and lets face it if you have to off yourself there is something wrong with your mental health.
Unfortunately, illegal guns used in crime in grouped in with lawfully owned guns.

Also, the data they use to try to correlate the info is so open ended any conclusion can be drawn via cherry picking and harvesting it to draw any conclusion that your bias with allow.

Here are some pointers to the data they used to to come to the misguided conclusion:

European Detailed Mortality Database

Firearm-related deaths in the United States and 35 other high- and upper-middle- income countries

Deaths: Final Data for 2009

World Health Organization...

Interesting that the liberal media is loving this one study as that's all the proof they need without doing any of their own research.
